Little Rocker Media’s Top Unforgettable Moments of 2009

Amanda Bawarski:

1.    AP Tour in Clifton Park. During Set Your Goal’s set a roadie attempted to stage dive and duffed it (as in, fell onto the barricade) super hard.
2.    Someone breaking the side wall at Glamour Kills Tour in Buffalo during We The Kings.
3.    Interviewing A Day To Remember. Awesome band and perhaps the nicest dudes ever!
4.    LFO interview. My god was that a hot mess.
5.    Someone getting punched in the face at a The Academy Is… show in Syracuse…by a young girl.
6.    Taking the day off from photos to appreciate Hit The Lights in Syracuse. Not something huge, but a reminder to relax every now and then.
7.    Shooting Blink 182. Not the hugest fan, but my god! Awesome show, and fantastic experience.
8.    Warped Tour 2009. So much happened in one day, but my favorite bit would be working with Dallas Green, and acquiring a shot that has near 10,000 views on our flickr!
9.    AP Tour in Buffalo, NY. Not much to say, other than the fact someone at Buffalo.com finally proved I do actually work while in the pit.
10.    Not so much a show moment, but I’ve gotten to meet so many people in the last year! Thank you everyone for all the support, and I hope to meet so many more people in the next year!

1. While I didn’t have a photo-pass to this show, nor did i care to get one, Fall Out boy had a secret show in St. Petersburg that was announced a day before the show. I begged my boss to let me out early so I could get in line. And I had a blast.

2. I got to shoot Metallica. Fucking Metallica. I was the youngest person in the pit, and the only independent media. You can’t beat that. Ever.

3. I was abused at Warped Tour. While I was an attendee to the show for the past 4 or 5 years, I never had as many bruises as I did this year. During All Time Low, a crowd surfer fell into a security guard and I face-planted, camera-first into an amp. a 50mm lens was hurt in the process.

4. At the same show (same security guard?!) a booted-heel collided with my shin during underOATH. Sure, It doesn’t sound so bad, but I couldn’t walk, and I still have a sweet bruise.

5. As cheesy as it is, and probably lame, I got to go to all of these shows with my mom. She isn’t an embarrassing mom, who fawns over rock stars or pushed her daughter to the front. She’s pretty awesome, and I couldn’t ask for a better show partner.

6. I got to shoot Blink-182. Blink-182. Um, Hello?! Blink-182 was the first “rock band” I got into on my own, and Enema of the State was the first CD I bought with my own money. Things like that, you can’t put a price on.

7. Jack Barakat of All Time Low. While I can go into many stories about Jack, when the band had a stop in Tampa on the Glamour Kills Tour, he 1) tried to eat my lens, and 2) mimed a blow job in my direction. Did I mention All Time Low is one of my favorite bands? Ever?

8. Getting kicked in the head by a member of Hollywood Undead who stage-dived into the crowd. He stopped security from helping him up to grab me into a hug and apologize to me and ask if I was okay. No sweet bruise though this time.

9. Getting to cover the Taste of Chaos meet and greet and get some awesome candids of amazing bands. Come on! Thursday! Bring Me The Horizon! Four Year Strong! I had a blast getting random shots of them, and I hope I can work with all these bands again in 2010.

10. All of the above and then some. Each show has a memory, an LOL moment, or one that required first-aid. But I got to run this site with my best friend, got to experience things I never, ever thought we’re possible, and I got to laugh, cry, dance, sing, and hang out with some of my favorite bands. If you can find a better job than what I do, I dare you to try…
